THE
WORD - HIS WORD – HIS WORDS.
His words and you 001 16may2013.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All
things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that were made.” - John
1:1-4
The story of creation as narrated in the Bible gave us a
clue to the happenings at creation time -
- “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” - Gen 1:1-
- "And God said, Let there be light:" Gen 1:3
- "And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." Gen 1:6
- "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear" Gen 1:9
- "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth" Gen 1:11"
- Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth" Gen 1:14-15
- "Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens." Gen 1:20
- "Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind" Gen 1:24
- "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." Gen 1:26-27
Each instructions were diligently carried out by THE
WORD, as each was followed with “and it was so” and “God saw that it was good”
The account in John 1:1 personified “THE WORD”.
- “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it”. - John 1:1-5
Since God is a spirit being,
- “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:24,
then “THE WORD” is a spirit being.
After man sinned and God needed to make reconciliation,
He sent someone from heaven to do the work of re-conciliation, and that is when
-
- “--- the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” - John 1:14
“THE WORD” turned out to be JESUS – The only son of God.
JESUS even confirmed his existence in the beginning –
- "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM." - John 8:58
- "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." - Rev 1:8
Even Solomon was inspired to write this –
- "The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old. I have been established from everlasting, from the beginning, before there was ever an earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth; while as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, Or the primal dust of the world. When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep, When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep, When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth, Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him, Rejoicing in His inhabited world, And my delight was with the sons of men.” - Prov 8:22-31
“JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD.”
“JESUS IS “HIS WORD””
“HIS WORD AND YOU is JESUS AND YOU”
“HIS WORDS” are all proceeds from the mouth of GOD and
His son Jesus.
“HIS WORDS AND YOU” – The proceeds from the mouth of God
and Jesus and how they affect “YOU”.
His words are important in your life –
- “know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.” - Deut 8:3-4
- "Set your hearts on all the words which I testify among you today, which you shall command your children to be careful to observe — all the words of this law. 47 For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life, and by this word you shall prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess." Deut 32:46-47
- “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.” - Ps 119:9
- “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.” - Ps 119:11
- “This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life.” - Ps 119:50
- “Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word.” - Ps 119:67
- “Your word is a lamp to my feet, And a light to my path.” - Ps 119:105
- “Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.” Ps 119:133
- “He sends out His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow.” - Ps 147:18
- “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;” - Eph 6:17
- “He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.” - Ps 107:20
- “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.” - Prov 30:5
And
note -
- “He who despises the word will be destroyed.” - Prov 13:13
- "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.” - John 8:31-32
- “The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever." Isa 40:8
- “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” - Isa 55:11
- “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” - Heb 4:12
So as instructed, we shall -
- “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” - 2 Tim 4:2
So decide today to let His words be your companion, let
His words guide and guard you all your life. You will not regret taking the
decision.
